The Digital Factory Reference Platform is composed by a set of Generic Enablers (GEs) and Specific Enablers (SEs) arranged through suitable open interfaces (Open APIs) in order to facilitate the development of advanced functionalities to the user.
The reference platform is intended to facilitate the fast and cost effective development of innovative services and applications that connect people (blue collar workers, engineers, production engineers, white collar workers) with the information required to perform their tasks. The reference platform is specially intended to provide support in the development of advanced & 3D data visualization services and applications.
The reference platform is formed by 3 FI-WARE GEs and 4 FITMAN SEs and it is connected via open APIs to external platforms implementing specific aspects of the Digital Factory such as the human co-operative work (Virtual Obeya), the real world track & trace of product instances (iLIKE) and the 3D scanning & point cloud analysis system.
- In reference to the Generic Enablers, WireCloud GE, is the front-end component, which allows application mash ups and data visualisation. At the back-end of the Digital factory platform the reference platform also supports data management capabilities that implement the management of heterogeneous information presentation. Such data to people support is provided by the Data.PubSub GE, which enables different types of data subscription. This subscription component is complemented by unstructured data analysis provided by the UDA GE.
- In reference to the Specific Enablers they extend the front end and back end capabilities of the digital platform. The mash up capability of the GEs are extended by specific capabilities for collaborative functionality. Collaborative 3D Web Viewer (C3WV SE), supports functionality for remote collaboration and synchronized visualization of 3D components in the web browser. The reference platform provides specific support to management of 3D information, with a specific 3D Scan SE, which allows developers to effectively visualize (front-end) and manage and store (back-end) 3D information such as point clouds, STL or color mapping files. CAD or more 3D complex information representation, such as JTI files can be managed with the support of C3WV SE. The back-end capabilities for data analysis and subscription are extended by specific enables. Enhanced semantic middleware support is provided by the Semantic Mediator (SedMed SE), which fully supports a semantic representation and adaptation of heterogeneous data sources The analysis of structured and unstructured data is enhanced with specific social network source analysis, which is supported by the Unstructured and Social Data Analytics SE (Anlizer SE).
